IMMERSION EXPERIENCE (BY INVITATION ONLY)

Guided by local communities (and their financial capability workers and financial counsellors), we're going to organise a 3-day immersion for key decision makers to spend time in First Nations communities.  The tentative itinerary will be to depart late Saturday, visit communities on Sunday and Monday, and return to Darwin Tuesday morning.

The idea is we have canvassed financial counsellors and financial capability workers for their top 10 'wish-list fixes' (based on issues they have identified in their work with Indigenous or remote clients) and we'll invite people with the power and resolve to find fixes.

We won't promise you luxury.  But we will promise you a few days that you won't easily forget. In return, we'll want a commitment from you to do your best to find some fixes.

We'll be calling for expressions of interest from senior decision makers

  • in regulatory roles,

  • government agencies such as Centrelink, ATO, AFSA etc

  • telcos or banks servicing remote communities

  • ombudsmen

  • other organisations in the 'remote community' financial hardship space.

  • super funds (this will be on the Wed 20th and Thurs 21st May 2020 conference via AIST)
