WHERE CAN I STAY?
DOUBLETREE BY HILTON
The conference venue is the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on the esplanade. We're also using the Darwin Entertainment Centre on Mitchell St, which is connected to the conference hotel.
NOTE: Darwin hotels are 99% full. There are some rooms in our Ozaccom allocation at the Mercure Airport hotel and Rydges Central (it reopens officially on 1 June so it will be a quiet hotel with skeleton staff). Book via the Ozaccom link on this page.
Book through our conference booking agents, Ozaccom as we are told that we have 'the last bundle of rooms left in Darwin'.
You can book online by clicking on this link to our Ozaccom booking portal. It's very easy.
Or call Ozaccom if you have a special request, or just like talking to a real person. Call Madonna on +61 (0)7 3854 1611 and say "FCA conference booking."
Staying longer or coming earlier
Let's face it, getting a ticket to the NT is pretty cool especially after our year of covid.
So why not stay a bit longer and dip a toe into Kakadu, all that Darwin has to offer, or even just spend a few hours at the hotel's beautiful pool or in the nearby (croc free) harbour pool. We did a test run, and it was great!
The hotels should offer the same special conference price to you if you come early, or stay longer.
See also our 'Stay longer' page.
Staying in Kakadu
If you're going solo ... our favourite place is called Cooinda, and we loved the Yellow River Water trip at dawn or sunset, or both (they feel different). Cooinda has cabins, hotel like rooms and camping, and is pretty special. There is a deal if you book both the sunset & dawn tours, and the latter includes breakfast.
Or there are places in Jabiru, including the 'crocodile' hotel which looks like a croc from the air.
See Top End Tourism's portal. with links from our Stay Longer page. It's easy to search for anything tourism related.
